I’ve been a State Farm customer for years back in Illinois, have loved it, and I just moved back to Delaware in a moving truck and bought a new car upon arrival. For some reason, quotes for me in Delaware came back 3-4x higher than what I was paying in Chicago for the same coverage, from everyone. State Farm was still the cheapest quote I got, outside of progressive who was the only one to give me a more normal rate closer to what I was paying in Illinois. I attempted to sign up with progressive and it was a nightmare. All of a sudden they wanted me to prove like 5 different things, just a huge hassle. I already have the car and even 24 hours after sending them what they asked for, they still haven’t responded. I decided to call this local SF office back and told them what happened with progressive, and that I have a $30k car that I just paid cash for that is uninsured. What State Farm’s original rate came back as has nothing to do with this office, they don’t control that, but Shirley moved mountains for me to get my policy transferred from Illinois and my new vehicle insured within the hour. She found some ways to get the rate lower without me losing any significant coverage. It’s still going to be about $70 more a month than what progressive quoted me (yet cant even give me), but $100 lower than what Allstate and Geico were quoting me. Excellent experience and Shirley was incredibly helpful."
